Ronald Riley Barr

Ronald Riley Barr passed away peacefully on February 5th, 2023 at his home in Alpharetta, Georgia, he was 76 years old.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and grandpa throughout his entire life. 

Ron was born to Guy "Curly" and Cumi "Elizabeth" Barr on October 22nd, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida. He married the love of his life, Lynn Carole in 1983 and went on to have one son, Kyle, and two beloved grandchildren, Brooks and Emily. After a brief service in the United States Army and graduation from the University of Florida he went on to have a very successful career in software engineering, although his favorite title was that of Dad and Grandpa. 

 Ron had the gift of making people smile or laugh no matter what the circumstance or time of day. He loved his family and his friends more than anything in the world and wanted nothing more in life than for them to be happy, especially his two grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Guy C. Barr and Cumi E. Barton, his brothers Luther Barr, Billy Burch, and his sister Dot Barnett.  He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lynn Barr, his son Kyle Barr and daughter in-law Sarah, his grandchildren Brooks and Emily, his mother in-law Dorothy Long, brother and sister in-laws Jesus and Laurie Diaz and Tim and Toni Sullivan, multiple nephews and nieces also survive.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10th, from 1:00pm - 2:00pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home.

A celebration of life service will be held in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home on Friday, February 10th, 2023, at 2:00pm.
