Patrick James Delaney, 75, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 after a prolonged illness.
A native of Portland, Oregon, Mr. Delaney had lived in the Atlanta area for nearly 30 years. He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Portland, then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for more than 20 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He later retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after 20 years of continued federal service.
Mr. Delaney was preceded in death by his parents, William G. Delaney, Jr. and Mayo M. Berk; his son, Jeremy R. Delaney; and brothers Gerald F. Delaney and Sean T. Berk. He is survived by his closest friend, Nancy P. Hayward; his daughter, Joanna L. Garland and her husband, Darien; his brother, Richard W. Delaney and his wife, Ginger; his sisters, Karen R. Bush and her husband, Nicholas, and Cheryl A. Applegate and her husband, Michael; three grandchildren, and beloved family friends, Rachael and Wes Ramsey, Brad Hayward, and Karen and Scott Cason.
Funeral services will be private.
