Muriel Jane (Powell) Jackson

Muriel Jane Jackson passed away on February 1, 2023 at age 95. Muriel was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved staying connected to her family, watching her backyard birds and caring for her flowers.  We will all remember her determination and her beautiful smile.

Church attendance and activities were always an important part of her life.  She was an active member of the Order of Eastern Star for 75 years, most recently as a member of Cumming Chapter #346.

Muriel is preceded in death by her husband, Allyn, of 49 years, with whom she raised her children and enjoyed years of traveling and camping; and Frank, with whom she renewed their friendship after 60 years and enjoyed 11 years of companionship. 

She is survived by three children: Susan Oare and husband Tom of Tulsa, Oklahoma; David Jackson and wife Lynn of Cumming, Georgia; Donna Morris and husband Marc of Cumming, Georgia; five grandchildren: Mark Oare, Amy Oare, Christopher Jackson, Kelly Bryan and Natalie Morris; and six great-grandchildren.

A service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 12:00 noon at McDonald & Son Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia.  The family will be available for visitation from 10:00am to noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northside Hospital Forsyth Auxiliary Pet Therapy Program or to a service animal program of your choice.
