Lynn Green passed peacefully at home, age 77, after a courageous 10 week battle with pancreatic cancer, ending a life dedicated to education, with an unending thirst for new challenges.
Lynn was a fierce tennis competitor, voracious reader, and she loved hiking in our national parks, her favorite being Grand Teton. Her final adventure was an expedition in January to Antarctica and Patagonia, featuring lots of time with penguins, a longtime dream. Through her photos and commentary, Lynn's travels over the years were eagerly followed by her many, many friends.
Lynn's extended family includes her husband, Ron, and three children: Lisa Conn (Jeff), Roswell, GA; John Ritch (Kelly), Santa Rosa Beach, FL; and Drayton Green (Mallory), Vestavia Hills, AL. Lynn's wisdom and guidance shines through in her seven grandchildren, Parker Conn, Sam Conn, Olivia Conn, Grace Ritch, Wilson Ritch, Emily Green and Martin Green, ages 25 to 1&1/2 years.
To the grandchildren, she is known and loved as "Goo." Lynn's brother, Brian Bees, resides in Leoi, Thailand, and her nephew Jeff Jensen (Robin) lives in Portland, OR.
Celebration of life is now scheduled for September 24th, 2023 at West Milford Farm, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Lynn requested her ashes be taken to Scarp Ridge, one of her favorite spots in Colorado, reached by a strenuous hike through wildflowers, with spectacular views of the sky and mountains, reflecting the strength and beauty that was Lynn. Family and friends alike will miss Goo, their loss is enduring.
Before passing, Lynn requested that any remembrance for her be in the form of a donation to the National Park Foundation, which works to protect this precious national heritage.
