Lee Dalton passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021. A memorial celebration of Lee’s life will be held on Saturday, May 15 at Collierville First Baptist Church, Collierville, TN.
Lee was born on July 28, 1940 in DeWitt, Arkansas. A resident of Collierville, TN for much of her life, Lee was a teacher in Collierville schools for over a decade. In recent years, she and her husband, Richard Dalton, resided in Cumming, GA.
Lee was preceded in death by her father, Cozie Wilhite and sister-in-law, Susan Baker Wilhite.
She is survived by her mother, Mable Horton Wilhite, her husband of 60 years, Richard; and their children, Shayne Dalton Merlo and husband, James Merlo, and Sloane Dalton Akos and husband, Patrick Akos. She leaves behind 5 granddaughters; Hannah Merlo Cooper and husband, Jered Cooper, Hailey Merlo, Heidi Merlo, Dalton Akos and Riley Mike Akos.
She is also survived by her siblings, Cozie Don Wilhite and Julia Gahagan, and Randy Wilhite and wife, Brenda Wilhite as well as many nieces and nephews.
