Lawrence L Kubicki

Lawrence L. Kubicki, age 81, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully after a twelve-year courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Cancer on January 12, 2022. The beloved husband of Julianne Kubicki, father of five children, Poppy to eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. 

Larry was born on July 20, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Leonard and Henrietta Kubicki. Larry graduated from Central Catholic High School and the University of Toledo.  In 1962, he began his career in the steel industry, with Hausman Steel. In 1978, he was named president of Hausman Corporation, at which time he moved the corporate offices to Indianapolis, Indiana. During his time in Indianapolis, he and Julianne enjoyed many great friendships and loved playing golf at Woodland Country Club.  Two wonderful accomplishments during this time were serving on the Board of Directors for Liberty Mutual and as President of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute. Larry remained at Hausman Corporation until 1994.  He joined Brocker Rebar Company, in York, Pennsylvania as their new president and remained there until his retirement. Larry and Julianne relocated to Cumming, Georgia and spent the last 20 years pursuing their passion of golf, other hobbies and social activities with many friends at Polo Country Club. His favorite memories included traveling the world and incredible family beach vacations. Most of all he was a devoted friend and trusted advisor to all who knew him.   

Larry is survived by his lovely wife Julianne, his children June Durham, Scott Kubicki (Juli), Shelley Kubicki, Bob Powers (Lydia), Amy Malcolm (Vince) and grandchildren Drew and Jake Durham, Ben, Jakob and Katie Kubicki, Zachary (Jenna) Malcolm, Kennedy and Jack Malcolm and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ann (Ronnie) Fasca and many nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 10:00 am.
