Laura Edmiston Harris passed away and went to be at home with her Lord Jesus Christ March 15, 2023 at her home after a year long Illness. Laura was born in Washington DC in November of 1954. Laura’s family moved to Huntsville Alabama where she grew up attending grade school, Jr high school and Lee high school.
Laura was an active member of the dance and gymnastic teams. She was an accomplished artist in painting, sewing and quilting. She enjoyed the outdoors, boating, kayaking, and hiking. She was a faithful follower of Jesus, a mentor and counselor to women in need of spiritual healing. She worked with Amoco, Chi Chi Rodriquez Youth Foundation and on a Congressional campaign team as a CFO.
Laura enjoyed spending time with her husband and family, along with her children and grandchildren and having fun with them. Laura is survived by her husband, two sons, three grandchildren, and three siblings, Laura is preceded in death by her parents Bill Edmiston, and Harriett Edmiston.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 20, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be March 21, 2023 at 11:00 am at the McDonald and Son Chapel followed by interment at Sawnee View Gardens.
