John Jay Hogg born May 29, 1960 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away at his home in Cumming, GA May 7, 2023 at the age of 62. John lived a life filled with joy and laughter sourced by his wife, family and friends. When not operating his businesses or performing acts of kindness for his friends and family you could find him at the marina enjoying “lake life” at the fullest. John had a keen interest in the development of every young person he met. To many of the young people in the neighborhood, “Mr. John” was more of an uncle or mentor than a neighbor. His jovial and accepting demeanor allowed his “larger than life” personality to knit together a large community of beloved friends from all walks of life. He will best be remembered by his genuine love for people and willingness to serve those he loved. John is survived by his loving wife Jean Kintz, his sister Margaret “Cookie” Evans, brothers Gene and Frank Hogg and their spouses, along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 13th, 2023 from 11am-1pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens
