Joanne Crowe Hetzel-Clugsten, age 55 of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully at home and entered into Heaven on April 13. Joanne was born October 30, 1966 to Robert and Evelyn Crowe in Van Nuys, CA. They later moved to Simi Valley, CA, where Joanne grew up and graduated from high school. A few months after graduating in 1985, at age 18, she met Pat Hetzel, and they got married 4 years later on August 31, 1989. They moved to Atlanta, GA, and Pat started his business, AP Dataweigh, where Joanne assisted Pat part-time with the bookkeeping and payroll for his company. But, for the most part, Joanne spent the majority of her life as a full-time wife and mother. Her greatest joy was her four children! After Pat passed in 2009, Joanne remarried Dave Clugsten on August 5, 2013, and they created their beautiful blended family with Joanne’s four children and Dave’s three.
Joanne was a beautiful, loving, supportive, and fiercely devoted wife, mother, and dear friend to so many who were fortunate to have her in their lives. She touched in such a special way everyone she encountered with her sweet demeanor, soft, calm voice, precious laugh, and contagious smile. She had a magnetic personality that attracted people, and just made you want to be with her. Every moment with Joanne was a joy! She made you feel like you were with an angel when you were in her presence. She greatly blessed the lives of everyone in her large circle, whether you were a family member, a close friend, or just an acquaintance.
Joanne loved Jesus, and was a member of Cumming United Methodist Church for 23 years. She was active with her children’s schools and all their activities! In addition to her family, Joanne’s greatest passions included beach trips, boating at Lake Lanier, socializing with family and friends, going out to eat at Mexican restaurants, dogs, cats, shopping, scented lotions, candles, gardenia flowers, and Celine Deone.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Evelyn Crowe, and her first husband, Patrick Hetzel. She is survived by her husband, Dave Clugsten of Cumming, her children, Allen, Paxton, Colby, and Taylor Hetzel; step-children Joey, Bella, Jackson Clugsten, and several nieces and nephews.
Joanne will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but they will carry on her legacy of love, family, kindness, patience, forgiveness, and living life to the fullest! May Joanne Rest In Peace with God, and her loved ones who preceded her in entering Heaven’s gates.
In lieu of flowers, Joanne requested for donations to be made to a fund for her four children to assist with getting the younger children through high school and college, and assist with launching the older children in their lives. Donations may be made to https://www.gofundme.com/f/joanne-hetzelclugsten-childrens-memorial-fund, and a Memorial Fund will be established at a bank soon.
