July 19, 1963 ~ June 3, 2022 (age 58)

Obituary

John Trowbridge Clark (Jay, Bird) of Cumming, Georgia passed away peacefully at age 58 with his beautiful wife and family by his side. Jay was born on July 19, 1963 in San Antonio, TX and is the son of Carol H. Clark and the late Dr. John Dana Clark. Jay fought a short courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Never losing hope, he always maintained high spirits and his amazing sense of humor.

Jay went to Daniel Hand High School in Madison, CT. He met the love of his life and his wife of 35 years, Susan Rubler Clark, his sophomore year. They were high school sweethearts. Jay was athletic, an avid skier and talented soccer player. He spent his summers at the Clark family camp in Cedar Beach, Vermont. Naturally, he went to college at the University of Vermont. His work ethic and charisma led him to a successful career as a well respected leader in the telecom industry. Bird was a music enthusiast; he had the absolute best playlists. On any given beautiful day throughout the year, you most likely would find Jay out on the lake entertaining family and friends as he captained his boat. His smile was contagious and he was always making everyone laugh, appropriately voted class clown in high school. He was an amazing friend to many and thoroughly enjoyed his time volunteering with Cast for Kids. Jay Bird lived life to the fullest and was a man of moral strength and integrity.

Jay is survived by his wife Sue Clark of Cumming, GA; daughter Stephanie Clark of Atlanta, GA; daughter Meghan Clark Daneke and son-in-law Rick Daneke of Athens, GA; mother Carol Clark of Cumming, GA; sister Liz Brock and brother-in-law James Brock of Cumming, GA; and sister Lori Blackwell of Middle Springs, VT.
