With utmost sadness we announce the passing of our daughter Dr. Heather J. VanderBrink, age 49 on April 9th, 2021.
Heather is survived by her partner in life; Eric Berkeypile of Alpharetta, Ga. Daughter, Christina Brooks and Son Michael Berkeypile, both of Alpharetta, GA. Her parents; Jonni and Jacob W. VanderBrink of Iron Station, NC; Brothers Justin D. VanderBrink and Christa Clymer of Savannah, GA and John J. VanderBrink and Patty Gray of Harrisburg, NC.
Our Heather was a giving and loving person, kind and generous to both humans and animals. Never one to complain regardless of the difficulties, she endured more than anyone should.
A Valedictorian of Calvary Day School Class of 1989. Heather started her educational career at Armstrong College in Savannah, Ga , studying Chemistry before moving on to University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. While at Georgia Heather pursued a career in Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in 1994. Some years later, Heather returned and continued her studies in both Archeology and the Classics at UGA. Health limitations created a need to look outside of veterinary medicine so Heather began a new path in accounting.
Heather’s family will receive friends Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm with her memorial service at 2:00 pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. Her family will gather with friends after the ceremony in the McDonald and Son Reception Hall.
