Harvey John Powell

Harvey John Powell, 90, of Cumming, GA, passed away on December 4th, 2021.

He was born June 4th, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan. Harvey attended college and was a proud member of our United States Navy and continued his love of boating throughout his life. He was a man of God, and a very active member at Good Shepherd Catholic Church for many years. He was a dynamic part of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society at his church. Harvey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a great grandfather. He never missed the opportunity to help others and will be missed by many.

Harvey is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Alfred Powell and Dorothy Vivian Powell and his son Gary Powell. Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Betty Powell "Dolly"; his children, Dennis Powell, Valerie Ballard, Glenn Powell, Scott Powell, Suzanne Connor, and Kathy Metz. He is survived by 17 grandchildren, as well as numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 9th, 2021 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm

A celebration of life service will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 11:00am on Friday, December 10th, 2021.
