It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gladys Anne Mize, our loving and devoted mother, exceptional Grammy and a friend to all whose lives she touched, on March 28, 2021.
Born in Mineola, NY as the youngest daughter to Richard and Gladys Pandolfi on August 5, 1959 Gladys was always happy and smiling and never met a stranger.
After surviving through a divorce and working 3 jobs, Gladys was hired at Qwiz as a receptionist but was quickly promoted to Office Manager. Gladys loved her job and she invested in every person she worked with over the past 20 years and considered them friends and some even family.
In her “younger” days she was known to frequent a karaoke bar or two but recently had been involved in organizations involving the homeless and felt that it was her calling. She was part of different groups and was trying to put together a larger initiative to help the homeless in our area.
Gladys loved nothing more than an early morning walk on the beach and a good vacation. Equal to that she loved a good thrift store, watching her birds in the backyard, spending time with her daughters and 3 grandchildren and just living her life to its fullest.
Gladys had a special connection to hawks and we know she is flying high in the sky watching over us all whom she loved and cared for.
Gladys was a devout believer in God and the many angels she felt walked with her daily and through her fight with her blood disease MDS. When the heavens opened we know she was welcomed with, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” (Matthew 25:21)
Gladys is survived by her daughters, Christine(Shawn) Clark, Carolyn(Scott) Lindsey; 3 grandchildren, Mackenzie Anne(16), Haiden Alexander(12) and Jackson Anthony(10), her loving cats Pumpkin and Katie as well as her sisters Patricia Cox(Sam), Jeanie Pandolfi and Marie Neumann(Bob), 1 nephew and 3 nieces as well as many cousins.
This is a devastating loss to so many. Gladys will me missed beyond measure and has left an unfillable void in the lives and hearts of all those who were blessed to know her and love her.
A public viewing will be held at McDonald & Son funeral home in Cumming, GA on Friday, April 2 from 5pm-7pm. There will be a celebration of life service for Gladys at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in August, details TBD.
