Obituary
George Henry Cole 79, of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, surrounded by his family. George was born May 24th, 1944, in Hollis, Maine to Charles and Phoebe Cole. Upon graduating from Deering High School in 1962 he became a Private First Class in the United States Marine Corp, later transferring into United States Air Force. Initially starting his Air Force career as an airman and moving through the Non-Commissioned Officer ranks. In 1978 he received an undergraduate degree in Business, resulting in his promotion to Second Lieutenant. He went on to obtain a master’s in business administration and retired as a Captain after 26 years of military service. Upon his retirement from active duty, George became a civil servant working within the Air Force Audit Agency and the Financial Management Services for an additional 20 years. He dedicated his life in support of military service. He was also a 9/11 survivor being present at the Pentagon at the time of the crash. George was married to Charlotte Baker in 1965 and they had two children and 8 grandchildren.
George is survived by his Wife, Charlotte Cole, Son, Michael Cole, Daughter, Michele Cole and Sister, Emilie Estes.
George will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a time to be determined.
