Florence Glover, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2021. Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother survived by her 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, great granddaughter and step-great granddaughter as well as a mother to her 2 sons-in-law. She is a native Atlantan whose passion for travel sent her on many adventures seeing all 50 states including Alaska, Hawaii as well as many countries overseas including many European countries, Africa and many Caribbean islands. She had a love for Christ and was a dedicated member of Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church serving in the baby nursery and on many committees including Ridgecrest Lodge which became one of her favorite places and home to decades of annual family reunions. She served on mission trips where she helped build many churches in Kentucky, a bridge in Africa as well as provided post-hurricane relief. To all that met her, she will be remembered as a sweet, kind, strong and giving woman who never met a stranger. She had a servant heart and often opened her home to many during the holidays or in times of need. She had an infectious laugh, loved gardening, the beach with a good book, and a fun game of 7’s or Chicken Foot with her family. Over the past 10 years, her children have had the privilege to get to know her, not as a wife or mother, but as a friend. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her but know that she has been reunited with many in Heaven that will greet her with open arms.
There will be a graveside funeral with immediate family only this Friday, 2/12. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to their Mission or Ridgecrest Lodge at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, 2715 Peachtree Rd, NE, Atlanta, GA 30305.
