Ernest Willard Manus, 87, affectionately remembered as “Pawpaw Ernie” or daddy, of Cumming, Georgia went home to the Lord on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
Ernest served his country honorably and proudly through the US Navy, on the USS Philippine Sea (CV-47) during the Korean War. After the leaving the Navy, Ernest went to work for 25 years as brick mason.
Whether he was hunting, fishing or even panning for gold, he loved the outdoors. A love that he passed on to his children and they to their children. Ernest love the Lord and he loved his family. There was always a story to tell, a laugh to be had and bucket of chicken to eat. He will be greatly missed but loved always.
In addition to his parents, Ernest is preceded in death by his son, Josh Manus and two brothers Robert and Larry Manus and sister Doris Hicks.
Those left to cherish his memory is his sister Evelyn Farmer. His sons: Tim Zuber (Pam), Rusty Manus (Lynn), Ernest Manus, and daughter in law, Angel Manus.
He will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren: Lauren Zuber, Brianna Zuber, Kayla Manus, Ian Manus, Leah Page Manus, Jackson Manus, Bradley Manus, Kerri Aune, and Candice Wheeler. Along with five great grandchildren: Willow Hatcher, Rubie Stewart, Lilah Payne, Carter Aune, and Cooper Aune.
Graveside services will be held on November 17, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
