Born Dwight Angelo Taite on December 13, 1951, he was the sixth child born to Percy Taite Sr. and Mattie Taite; and introduced to Christianity at an early age. He was a 1969 graduate of Pensacola High School in Pensacola, FL and joined the Air Force the same year. Dwight retired from the military in 1992 at the rank of Captain. He returned to Pensacola, FL after his retirement where he worked numerous places as a registered nurse. Dwight was survived by Charlene Taite, and his two daughters Angela Taite Jennings and Antonia Taite Shaw (Jay). In addition to his wife and children, he was survived by four brothers and one sister named Percy (Tracey) Taite Jr., Clarence Taite, Vincent Taite, John Taite, and Jacqueline Dawson respectively. He also left behind several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at Benboe Funeral Home 416 West Wright Street Pensacola, Florida 32501.
Graveside services with United States Air Force honors will be on Thursday, September 9th, 2021 at 9:00am at Barrancas National Cemetery 1 Cemetery Road Pensacola, Florida 32508.
