An outdoor service to celebrate his life will be held at the McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, GA on June 20th, 2020. The family will receive visitors from 10:00 -11:00 AM, and the service will be held outdoors at 11:00 AM.
Mark lived his life like there was no tomorrow, and he never met a stranger. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hiking and camping. He loved his time at his Cabin, whether it was a normal weekend, “Wild Hogs” weekend or if the kids and grandkids were coming to roam the side of the mountain.
Mark was also a sports enthusiast, but preferred football to all the rest. As a lifelong Falcons’ fan, his Sundays in the fall consisted of Church, then the Falcons game. Everyone knew what kind of mood to expect by the results of the game.
Mark loved his kids and his grandkids like no one else could. He was the happiest when he had all of them in one place at one time. He loved being called Dad, but there was really something about being called G-Daddy that could really brighten up his day.
As G-daddy, he became the grandkids super fan to all of their sports and extracurricular activities. He was a regular at the football games roaming the sidelines behind the fence of almost every game. He had a hat for every occasion, and he was always like part of the team. You could even find him at the skate park or the pre-school graduations.
With so many great memories of Mark, his infectious smile will live on in us all. He will be sorely missed, but we know he can go in peace because he left us all with so many great stories and stuff by which to remember him. We know that he was greeted at the Pearly Gates by his buddies that passed in the last year, and his dog Buster. Heaven is not ready for the ruckus that group is bringing.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org
