My beautiful husband David of twenty-nine years lost his battle with leukemia on Sunday March 14, 2021. He passed away at home. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his daughter and granddaughter Tina and Breanna, his son David Mathew Abston, grandson Gader R. Abston, wife Angelina and great grandson Jack Henry. Stepdaughter and husband Michelle and Thaddeus Nienhuser, grandchildren Kyndra, Audrey, Kyla and Anthony, and Great Grandsons Liam and Kai. Stepson James Hodgin, wife, Christy, grandson Benjamin. Brothers Kenneth and Joseph Abston, foster brother Mike Krise. Brother-in-law James Allen of Little Rock and sister-in-law Mrs. John Thomas Allen of Richmond, Virginia. Last but not least the entire Munguia family, Arturo, Maria, Leticia, Marycruz, Viviana and Arturo.

David was semi-retired from 50 plus years in the flooring industry. He worked for Custom Home Center. He was an animal lover! David was a passionate, thoughtful, honest and humble man. David loved the Lord and loved talking and reading the Bible. His many hobbies included training Beagles, hunting, fishing, gardening, and he was an avid golfer. David was a member of Country Land Public golf course. David was a man of patience.

David’s remains will be returned home to Campbells Creek, West by God Virginia for a graveside memorial in August.
David was the son of a WVA Coalminer, preceded in death by his mother Mary Carte Abston and Wilbur Jesse Abston and baby sister.

One of his many sayings: Being a parent is easy if you never forget how to be a child.
