U.S. Veteran

Amelia (Amy) I. Muntean passed away on February 22, 2013 in Cumming, GA. Amy was born on February 4, 1925 in Middlebranch, Ohio, the daughter of Amelia and Nick Lungociu, later moving to Canton, Ohio.

She attended Timken High School and graduated as valedictorian and served during WWII as a navy nurse pharmacist mate second class at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Bethesda, MD. After the war she married Eugene J. Muntean. She graduated from Kent State University with a teaching degree, and was a license real estate agent before managing her husband’s business Muntean Furnace Heating and Air Conditioning.

After retiring she lived 14 years in Fort Myers, Florida, before moving to Sandy, Utah. Most recently she moved with her daughter to Cumming, GA. She was an inspiring leader and is most respected for honoring her mother and father, caring for them until their death, and her work ethic. She was an avid bridge player and gardener.

Her son Scott Muntean preceded her in death in 2000, and her husband passed away in 2002. She is survived by two sisters, Tenny Popa and Virginia Weiss, her four children Pamela Pape, Mark Muntean, William Muntean, and Cynthia Love; her nine grandchildren Robert Parker, Susan Dick, Peter Muntean, Jennifer Griswold, Nicole Muntean, Skylar Muntean, Danielle Muntean, Philip Love, and Julia Love; and six great grandchildren.
